According to Scientific Data, What is the Effectiveness of Gold Needle (Microneedle RF)?

The effectiveness of Gold Needle treatment has been examined in detail in many clinical studies both for the treatment of scars and marks in the facial area and for general skin rejuvenation.

1. ThermaCool™ (Thermage) Device Study:

The effect of radiofrequency (RF) technology, which forms the basis of Gold Needle systems, was first demonstrated in a large-scale study using the ThermaCool™ device.
In this study conducted by Fitzpatrick et al., a single-session monopolar RF application was performed to reduce wrinkles in the periorbital (eye area) area.
Study Results:

At the end of the 6-month follow-up, 83% of the patients showed at least 1 point improvement in the Fitzpatrick wrinkle scale.
A significant increase in the position of the eyebrows was noted in 62% of the patients.
50% of the individuals who participated in the treatment stated that they were satisfied or very satisfied with the results.
Side effects were minimal, and no serious complications were reported other than temporary erythema and edema.

2. Studies Conducted with Scarlet RF and Similar Microneedle Systems:

Microneedle radiofrequency devices, especially Scarlet RF, have shown promising results in the treatment of scars in the facial area.
In the Scarlet RF system, radiofrequency energy is directly delivered to the dermis layer with insulated gold-coated microneedles, providing tissue regeneration.

Study Findings:

In various clinical studies, up to 50% clinical improvement in facial acne scars has been reported after Scarlet RF treatment.
After treatment, a significant tightening of the skin tissue, a decrease in tone differences and a reduction in scar depth were observed.
Most patients were able to return to their daily activities with minimal pain and a 1-2 day recovery period.

3. Fractional BRF (Infini, Intracel) Lower Face and Chin Scar Treatment:

Impressive results have also been obtained in studies conducted with Infini and Intracel devices, which are Fractional Bipolar Radiofrequency (BRF) systems.
Significant improvements were observed especially in atrophic acne scars located in the lower face and chin area.

Jiang et al.'s 2020 Study:

A total of 3 sessions of fractional BRF treatment were applied to the patients included in the study.
Clinical improvements ranging from 20% to 62% were reported in acne scars in the lower face and chin area after the treatment.
Healing rates increased in direct proportion to the increase in the number of sessions.
Patients reported increased skin firmness, pore shrinkage and improvement in overall skin texture.
Side effects were mostly limited to mild erythema and edema.
