Waxing should not be done before laser epilation. Waxing prevents the laser from being effective because it removes hair from the root. The aim of laser epilation is to target the hair root and destroy the root. However, since the hair root will be removed when you wax, the laser device cannot find hair to target and the treatment becomes ineffective.
Things to consider before laser epilation:
Avoid removing your hair with wax, tweezers or thread: You should stay away from these methods for at least 4 weeks before the laser epilation procedure.
Shave your hair: You can shave the area 24 hours before laser epilation and remove only the hair surface. In this way, the hair root remains in place and the laser device can target these roots.
Avoid sunbathing: Tanned skin before laser epilation can increase the risk of burns or skin damage. Therefore, sunlight should be avoided and sunscreen should be used.
Instead of waxing, it is best to prefer methods such as shaving before laser epilation.
