They are tiny brown spots that appear on sun-exposed areas such as the face and shoulders, especially in white-skinned people. Freckles are actually a feature of the skin, not a problem that needs to be eliminated. Many people love their freckles and do not want to have them removed. But if you want your freckles to be removed, you can get rid of them especially with laser treatments.

WHY DO FACIAL FRECKLES OCCUR?

Freckles occur in people who are genetically predisposed, in sun-exposed places. After the color-giving cells in our skin, namely melanocytes, work hard locally, the color substance called melanin accumulates in the skin and creates tiny brown spots.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET RID OF FRECKLES?

The first rule is to protect yourself from the sun. The sun is very effective in the formation of freckles.

There are cells called melanocytes in the upper layers of our skin. When these cells see the sun, they darken the color of our skin to protect our body from the sun. If we go out to the sun too much, melanocytes produce a color substance called melanin, so our skin darkens. So we tan in the sun. This is actually our body's defense mechanism to protect us from the sun. It is the accumulation of melanin that forms freckles. In genetically susceptible people, melanin accumulates in some areas, forming freckles. In short, freckles are triggered by the sun, and being protected from the sun reduces the formation of freckles. We use laser treatments for the treatment of freckles.

FRECKLE TREATMENT WITH LASER

We apply Thulium laser, q switch laser and needle radiofrequency treatments to remove freckles with laser.

The reason why we use laser in the treatment of freckles is to try to remove the freckles without damaging the skin. Because people with freckles are genetically sensitive to the sun. If the skin of these people is irritated and they are exposed to the sun in this case, there will be more spots. Therefore, when treating freckles, laser treatments that do not harm the skin should be used for these sensitive skins.

Thulium laser is the most commonly used laser in freckle treatments. Because it produces light with a wavelength of 1927 nm. Thulium laser targets the color cells in the skin with this wavelength. With the Thulium laser, your skin is gently peeled off. With these discarded peels, there is a significant reduction in freckles.

Q-switch lasers specifically target the melanocyte cells that give color. Thus, the production of melanin by melanocytes is reduced. This is how Q switch lasers treat blemishes. The biggest advantage of these lasers is that they do not damage the skin while removing spots. There will be a slight redness after the procedure, this redness will go away on its own within 15-20 minutes.
