Things to Consider When Going for Laser Epilation

The preparation process is very important to get the best results from your laser epilation session. Here are the things you should consider before going for laser epilation:

1. Trim Your Hair with a Razor Before the Procedure
Since the laser targets the hair follicles, you should shave your hair with a razor 1 day before the procedure.

Do not use wax, epilator or tweezers! These reduce the effect of the laser because they destroy the hair follicles.

2. Make Sure Your Skin is Clean
There should be no creams, lotions, deodorants or makeup on your skin before the session.
If you use deodorant, especially in areas such as the armpits, clean your skin before the procedure.
3. Stay Away from the Sun and Solarium
Avoid sunbathing or going to the solarium 2 weeks before laser epilation.
Tanned skin can be more sensitive to laser rays and the risk of burns may increase.
4. Choose Comfortable and Loose Clothes
Wear loose and cotton clothes instead of tight and tight clothes as there may be sensitivity after the session.

If you are having the procedure done especially in the bikini or underarm area, wearing comfortable clothes will protect your skin from irritation.

5. Do not use peeling or chemical products before the procedure
To prevent skin irritation, do not peel 1 week before the procedure.

Avoid chemical peels containing AHA, BHA or products that sensitize the skin such as retinol.

6. Consult Your Specialist If You Are Pregnant or Have a Chronic Condition
If you are pregnant or have a serious skin condition (eczema, psoriasis, etc.), you should consult your doctor before the procedure.
