It is considered an autoimmune disease. In other words, the defense cells in our body attack their own hair follicles. Therefore, it may be associated with other autoimmune diseases and should be investigated in this respect. It is reported to be more common in early ages. 20% of the patients are children. 10-20% of patients also have alposi arata in another family member.

It creates patients. If there is an early onset age, positive family history, the presence of atopy, the presence of other autoimmune diseases, nail involvement, ophiasis, diffuse involvement, and a history of disease for more than five years, the treatment of the disease is very difficult. Alaposi araata is diagnosed by examination. There are areas of hair loss with sharp boundaries, where the scalp is normal. There are no complaints such as pain and itching.

Sometimes it is very common and can shed all the hair or all the hair on the body, how many even the eyelashes. 10-20% of patients also have nail involvement. Nails are broken.

The age of the patient, the duration of the disease and its prevalence should be considered when planning the treatment. First of all, cream treatments should be given. These are the creams we call Topical Corticosteroids. It can be used alone or in combination in first-line therapy. It is recommended to be used daily for a minimum of 6-12 weeks and a maximum of 3-6 months on the scalp.
