WHO DOES LASER EPILATION GIVE GOOD RESULTS? WHO DOES IT NOT GIVE GOOD RESULTS?
There are two factors that ensure that laser epilation gives good results, that is, hair loss in a short time, one of them is that the device is an FDA-approved Alexandrite laser, and the other is individual characteristics. The best results are usually seen in people with the following characteristics:
People with white skin and not tanned,
Those with black and thick hair,
Those without a hormonal disorder,
People over the age of 35,
Those with realistic expectations after the application.
The main reason why laser epilation sessions take too long and laser epilation does not give good results is that the device is not a real laser. IPL devices are called lasers. FDA-approved Alexandrite lasers should be used. Apart from this, some patients have difficulty in getting results. The reason why lasers do not give good results is that the hairs are not black enough and the skin color is too dark.
People with bronze skin or skin type 3-4 have intense melanin in their skin. This increases the risk of burns when using high laser energy and can make it difficult to apply effective laser doses. For this reason, waiting for the skin tone of tanned patients to lighten or applying lightening treatments can provide better results.
Since laser epilation targets melanin in the hair follicles, it is less effective on hair with low melanin content (white, red, blonde hair). It should definitely be noted that laser will not be effective on people with white hair. Although some studies suggest that results can be obtained for red and blonde hair, the success rate is generally low on these types of hair. Our clinic's experiences also support this situation.
